There could be a need to develop ESG initiatives that are relevant to internal operations, but also initiatives of vendors. The Carbon Trust estimates that [65-90%](https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/18/apple-amazon-exxon-and-the-toughest-carbon-emissions-to-capture.html) of a company's total greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) are produced in their value chain. Having insight into vendor's ESG data and risk is a crucial component to an effective ESG strategy. ISN helps Hiring Clients assess ESG risk through the following products and services: - **Sustainability Questionnaire:** Many Hiring Clients begin their sustainability journey within ISNetworld by tracking and trending their vendors’ qualitative and quantitative ESG information. These self-reported data points disclose, for example, whether vendors have Human Rights policies, if they have strategies to reduce their GHG emissions, what their Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions were in the previous year, or if they have a defined Whistleblower Procedure. - **Document Collection:** ISN’s Review and Verification Services (RAVS) Team can help take ESG due diligence a step further by reviewing documents such as supplier diversity certificates, anti-bribery & corruption policies, and modern slavery statements. - **ESG Plus:** Vendor assessment including a review of the company's ESG documents, a survey to craft-level employees, and a conversation with a member of the vendor's management team to debrief on the results of the assessment and discuss implementation of the ESG management system. Hiring organizations can attend these meetings to learn firsthand the strengths and opportunities of their vendors. - **ESG Insights & Supplier Diversity Dashboard:** Vendor ESG-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are updated every two hours, ensuring access to the most up-to-date data. These interactive dashboards allow Hiring Clients to visualize trends in their value chain and are useful for ESG reporting purposes. **Need more information?** It can be difficult to know where to start when collecting ESG data and how to manage your ESG expectations for your contractors. That is where ISN, the leader in contractor safety management, can help. If you are a current ISN Hiring Client subscriber, contact your account representative about incorporating sustainability into your contractor and supplier information management program.
