The Norwegian mineral fertilizer and chemical multinational Yara has implemented ISNetworld to assist with the management of its contractors’ health, safety and procurement information at its Sluiskil, Netherlands and Porsgrunn, Norway sites. ISN will aid Yara in ensuring its contractors meet legislative and company-specific requirements before performing work on site.

“Safety is always our top priority and this is one of the reasons why we have decided to partner with ISN,” said Head of Corporate HESQ Jan-Petter Fossum.  “Our colleagues in North America have promoted ISN to the rest of the company and we are happy to incorporate this into our European contractor compliance and management strategy to standardise our processes across multiple sites with the aim to improve contractor safety further.”

Founded in 1905 to solve emerging famine in Europe, Yara today is known as the world’s largest producer of mineral fertilizer. As the industry’s only global player with more than 12,000 employees worldwide, Yara has production facilities on six continents, operations in more than 50 countries – and sales to about 150 countries. Yara’s solutions for sustainable agriculture help produce the food required for the growing world population.

“We are pleased to expand our relationship with Yara with these two European locations,” says Bonney Hodges, ISN Senior Manager, EMEA. “As the safety of its contractors, employees and the community it operates within remain at the forefront of its operational decisions, we look forward to working closely with the Yara team to develop a system that meets both local and global requirements for its contractors.”
