Speaking to thousands of safety and procurement leaders across the globe, ISN presented on contractor management best practices and performance benchmarking metrics at more than 20 conferences throughout Australia, Europe, the Middle East and North America in 2014.
This past May, ISN presented 10 Strategic Elements Found in Best-in-Class Contractor Management Systems at the 2014 Oil & Gas Procurement Leaders Forum in Perth, Australia. This event hosted over 120 procurement and supply chain managers from across Australia’s oil and gas industry. Attendees discussed performance improvement initiatives and the value of sustainable supply chain processes within their organizations.
The following month, ISN joined the UK’s leading health and safety professionals at the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Conference in London to discuss best practices in benchmarking contractors’ safety performance. As 78 percent of work hours in 2013 were conducted by contractors rather than full-time employees, ISN spoke on key performance indicator metrics that help hiring organizations benchmark their contractors’ performance against those of their industry peers.
“Having a strong and sustainable contractor management program remains essential to mitigating risk and protecting the well-being of those working in the field,” said Richard Cerenzio, Director at ISN. “As the trend of outsourcing key operations to third-party contractors continues to grow, the need for clear communication and risk-ranking processes becomes even more imperative to maintaining workplace safety.”
Through ISN’s presentations at these events and at other conferences such as the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering
(CSSE), Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association, Inc. (VPPPA) and the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, organizations took away industry best practices and data to help them establish an objective baseline for their contractor performance targets.
This upcoming spring, ISN will host over 2,000 attendees from hiring, contractor and regulatory organizations at its 2015 ISN CONNECT Conference on April 9 and 10 in Grapevine, TX. More than 80 speakers and panelists across capital-intensive industries will share best practices that support safer on-site operations. ISN will also present key metrics from its Health & Safety Performance Indicator benchmarking report series to help customers identify areas of achievement and improvement within their respective fields. Throughout the conference, ISN staff will be available to provide hands-on training opportunities as well as one-on-one account assistance.
